The Daily Adventures of Mixerman – Day 1

The Daily Adventures of Mixerman were originally posted online (in written form) to the delight and chagrin of over 150,000 music makers. It was 2002. Labels were flush with money. $500,000 budgets were commonplace in Los Angeles. Rock bands were hot. CDs were $17. Everyone was making money. It was a different time.

This is my diary of a session gone awry. My “rebroadcast” as it were. The precise dates won’t line up, but it will be posted on a similar Monday to Friday schedule of the original. Only this time, you get to listen to it.

If you read The Daily Adventures of Mixerman, this is an entirely different experience. Tune in 5 days a week for the next 10 weeks to hear all the entries.

This post contains two entries.

Day 0 – Supreme Negotiators

In the first entry of The Daily Adventures of Mixerman, our protagonist, Mixerman, discusses his upcoming session with a bidding war band and an infamous producer.

Music: Ioan Harea – Classic Gypsy

Produced by Aardvark
Narrated by Mixerman
Mastered by Bob Ohlsson

Day 1 – Uh Oh . . .

On Day 1 of his session Mixerman struggles to pull drum tones with a hostile assistant and a rhythmically and mentally challenged drummer, both of whom are uncooperative in their own unique ways.

Lance performed by William Wittman (The Fixx, Cyndi Lauper)
Dumb Ass performed by Kenny Gioia (Darryl Hall & John Oates)

Produced by Aardvark
Narrated by Mixerman
Mastered by Bob Olhsson
