Does Generative AI Make Musical Decisions?

My wife fed her original lyric into Suno and it produced a rather remarkable result.

I realize my use of human terms in regards to AI triggers a lot of people, but I would argue the Suno AI made musical decisions in order to produce a great track that does all the right things. Not only is the track catchy, but smart choices were made. The AI didn’t just randomly mix and match from various sources as so many seem convinced it does. It created a smartly organized production and arrangement, clearly based on the lyrics it was provided. This production does the sorts of things well-seasoned producers do to push the listener forward and cause a reaction. In this video, I break down those decisions, and explain specifically what makes them smart.

If you’ve never used either Suno or Udio, I can assure you that generative AI is not what you imagine it to be. There is a lot of resistance by many producers and musicians to even try it, because they’re so convinced the AI is merely stealing existing work and then simply regurgitating it. I even have people arguing with me about how it works, without trying it themselves. The fear runs deep. So, since there are so many of you who refuse to try it for yourselves, I’ve tried it for you, So, sit back and relax, and let me demonstrate all the musical decisions that Suno made, that I would seriously jock any person for making.
